Danielle, Forest Room Lead Teacher (she/her)
Danielle is a native New Yorker with a passion for liberation educational practices. She’s been in Chicago since 2006. She enjoys trying new craft projects, designing childhood interior spaces, and learning anything new. She is a parent to four children and a member of the Humboldt Park Montessori community since 2018. She is currently completing her AMS certification in Early Childhood.

Jess, Childcare Assistant (he/him)
Jess holds a B.A. and has been an educator for 18 years. During that time he has worked with seniors to preschoolers, teaching ESL, music, Spanish, and general education. In addition to being a part of the team at HPM, Jess is a musician, ESL teacher, and a tutor for various teachers’ licensing exams.

Kristen, Prairie Room Lead Teacher and Executive Director (she/her)
Kristen grew up in Naperville and fell in love with working with children while in college in rural Arkansas/Oklahoma. She started by leading a mentorship program for teen moms and led an afterschool class on the southside of Chicago. These experiences inspired her to open a Montessori school and focus on early childhood education. Her greatest passion is being in the classroom with her students and seeing them learn new things! Kristen has been married to her partner, Brad for twenty years. Together they have 3 Montessori kids that they love dearly.

Lauren R., River Room Lead Teacher (she/her)
Lauren is a lifelong learner with bachelors degrees in systems engineering and economics, a masters degree in civil engineering, and a doctorate in economics. After teaching and conducting research at a university and then working at a child and family policy research center for almost two decades, she decided that she wanted to work directly with children. Subsequently, she completed a masters in elementary education and Montessori Upper Elementary certification. She is currently completing Montessori Lower Elementary certification and is passionate about making Montessori education accessible to all children. In her spare time she enjoys discovering new music, reading, spending time outdoors, watching tennis, playing board games with friends and family, and riding horses.
